Grand Bend Sand Dunes Engagement Session | Ina + Jordan

Ina and Jordan reached out when they were recently engaged to inquire about having an engagement session with me. The couple wanted to document this special time in their lives and, like most couples who inquire with me, they told me that they are camera shy and awkward and would need a lot of help and guidance. I assured them that this is one of the most common things I hear as an Ontario wedding photographer and not to worry. I’ll let you be the judge but these two only brought cute couple vibes and none of the awkwardness!

Sunset Engagement Session at Grand Bend Sand Dunes

Ontario is often not a place people think of as picturesque, but there are a lot of gorgeous places to plan an engagement session or elopement!! One of these locations is the sand dunes all around Lake Huron. For Ina and Jordan’s engagement photoshoot, we had originally planned for a different location, but as the day approached, we decided that trying to get there around rush hour would probably be stressful. That didn’t feel like the right kind of energy to bring to an engagement session so we opted instead for the sand dunes at Grand Bend.

When we arrived, the beach was pretty quiet. It was the perfect temperature with just the right amount of sun and the slightest breeze. We made our way across the sandy beach and over to the dunes where we were completely alone. We spent the evening laughing, chatting, walking up and down the dunes, and soaking up the summer sun.

Time passed by quickly, and when we finished Ina and Jordan mentioned how easy the whole process had been. I’m always so happy to hear when my couples have an amazing experience because that’s what makes the photos truly beautiful. Rather than deliver photos that are just a bunch of poses, I strive to create an experience with my couples that allow them to feel relaxed an authentically themselves.
